Chip Andreae
Chip Andreae is the founder and President of Andreae & Associates, Inc., a Washington, DC-based consulting firm specializing since 1991 in risk management and government relations strategies for international firms operating in emerging markets and across the globe.
He worked for thirteen years on Capitol Hill, including 4 years with the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and five years as Chief of Staff for Senator Richard Lugar of Indiana. As Chief of Staff, Mr. Andreae supported Senator Lugar’s role as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and led numerous Senate staff delegations to the Middle East, Near East, Latin America and Africa.
Working with the International Republican Institute and the National Democratic Institute, Mr. Andreae helped train newly created political parties for two years in Bulgaria, two years in Romania, and two years in South Africa. He has also served on over a dozen election observer missions around the world on behalf of the U.S. Government, including a presidentially sponsored election in the Philippines and elections in the Dominican Republic under former US President Carter.
Mr. Andreae has been involved in a number of domestic US political campaigns including statewide U.S. Senate races, as well as two national Presidential campaigns.
From 2004-2008, Mr. Andreae was CEO of Bell Pottinger, USA, where he led a multi-national effort to assist the Department of Defense in a classified program based out of the Middle East.
Since 2005, Mr. Andreae has served as co-chairman of Partnership for a Secure America, a non-profit organization whose board consists of 22 former Secretaries of State and Defense, Senators and Congressman, which strives to promote responsible foreign policy through bipartisan action. PSA develops and seeks bipartisan consensus on national security and foreign policy issues, building coalitions to support the bipartisan center.
For the past six years, Mr. Andreae has been engaged in various governmental efforts and nongovernmental organizations providing strategic counsel and advocacy related to the Syrian conflict. This includes high-level government negotiations, coordination of DC-based advocacy and lobbying efforts, and advising a NGO undertaking infrastructure development, reconstruction, and humanitarian relief efforts within Syria. Mr. Andreae also provides oversight and advice for a two-year research project focused on providing a strategic roadmap for reconstruction in Syria.
Prior to establishing Andreae & Associates, Mr. Andreae worked for two years as Vice President and Partner of the RCF Group, a Washington-based consulting firm. He was a founding partner of Andreae, Vick & Associates for seven years beginning in 1996.
In addition to his consulting practice, Mr. Andreae has served as a Visiting Lecturer at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Mr. Andreae holds an M.A. in Government from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Political Science and History from Denison University.
