Afghanistan-Pakistan Town Hall on Women's Rights

America Abroad Media has partnered with Afghanistan's Tolo TV and Pakistan's Express News to host a series of four town halls connecting Afghans and Pakistanis for dialogue. 

The third town hall brought together live studio audiences in Kabul and Islamabad to discuss women's rights and empowerment. 

Afghan panelists:

    •    Fawzia Koofi, Member of Parliament, Chairperson for the Committee for Human Rights, Women's Issues and Civil Society; and
    •    Aarya Nijat, government employee and writer who graduated from the Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government; and
    •    Selay Ghaffar, Executive Director of Humanitarian Assistance for Women and Children in Afghanistan and representative at the Bonn Conference

Pakistani panelists:

    •    Asma Arbab Alamgir, prominent leader of the Pakistan People's Party and former Member of Parliament; and
    •    Samina Ahmed, Project Director for South Asia, the International Crisis Group
