Corruption in Tunisia
AAM partnered with Hannibal TV, one of Tunisia’s leading independent television stations, to produce a town hall connecting audience members from across Tunisia with government ministers to discuss the numerous corruption cases that are hindering Tunisia's economic development.
Panelists included:
Abdelrahman Al-Adgham, Tunisian minister in charge of fighting corruption
Rachid Tamr, Member of the National Body for investigations about corruption
Ziad El-Hani, Member of the National Union of Tunisian journalists
The wide-ranging town hall discussion focused on the impact of corruption on Tunisia’s economic development, from individual bribes to cases involving private and state institutions. The dialogue also addressed corruption in the Tunisian media, where many journalists are facing bribes to ignore these damaging cases.
