Yousra
Yousra is a renowned Egyptian actress who took part in over 100 films and TV series over the course of her 30-year career. She received over 70 awards at festivals, such as Cannes, Venice, and Cairo. Three of her works were selected among the 100 Best Films in Egyptian Cinema History: Hadoota Masriyyia (1982), Al Avocato (1984), and Al-Mohager (1994).
She has chaired numerous juries at international festivals, including the Doha Tribeca Film Festival in 2010, and the Cairo International Film Festival in 2014 to become the first Egyptian figure to receive this status and become the honorary president of the 2017 edition of the festival.
Alongside her career in entertainment, Yousra is active in humanitarian work. She is an Ambassador of the UNAIDS, and she is a Regional UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for the Middle East and North Africa. She also works with the NGO Coptic Orphans, which aims to aid and care for Egyptian orphans. The organization awarded her with the Role Model Award in 2007 in appreciation of the time and effort she exerted to help orphaned children. Yousra was also on the list created by Arabian Business magazine of the Most Influential Women in the Arab World.
